My goal was to draw unique yet visually straight forward figures. I never had a clue that drawing a female figure would be so hard.

Do you know about the Isotype project?

Just that the style you've used resembled to me the one used in the Isotype project. :)
Do you have any reference image? I would really like to see it.
What triggered the similarity for me was probably the rounded shape of the guy, something that I found existing in Isotype (see: http://gerdarntz.org/node/117) and that isn't somewhat missing from usual "stylized" human figure shapes. :)
I think I get you now. Basically, at any pictogram that you look, similarities can be found, reason for that are objects that resemble our metaphors.
I'm really glad that we cleared that out :)
