I have to make an app for one of my college classes, and I've always really liked those "Stacker machines" that you can find at malls, arcades, etc. The ones that are nearly impossible to win, but if you do you can win some prize like a PS3, iPhone, etc.
This is very preliminary, but I'm kinda having fun making it :)
I have an idea where the default version contains an iAd, and the user has to actually win the game 1 time to unlock the full game. Don't know if Apple allows that, but could be fun.
Looks lovely, the gloss and the star background are really effective.
Maybe you could think of some cool virtual prizes that you win at the end of the game to keep it fun, kinda like the quiz game Buzz.
Beautiful details, looks fantastic. Is that Apple's aurora background you've got there?
Love your idea that the first prize you win is the full game, very original idea!
Christopher, remember that those machines are actually rigged. The last level is all but impossible, and from what I've read, only "pays out" based on a certain required number of fails, and not based on user skill. It's a shame.
Michael, could you link to that game? Just did a quick search, and I'm not finding it.

I'm going to buy/download this app just so I can practice and actually win on one of those machines.

Good catch, Zach! It actually is.

Much happier with this. I think this screen is just about done. I especially like how the gradients on the blocks are indicative of the difficulty.

What school are you going to where they've started moving into new media design? Most schools haven't and it's a tragic thing.
I like what you've done throughout. Wish it was real. :)

I'm not a design student, I'm a Comp. Sci student, and they offer a Mobile App Development (read: iPhone-iPad) course.
I go to Creighton in Omaha, a small-ish Liberal arts university.
And, if my skills get good enough, this app will be real :)
