My first shot had inset dividing lines messed up by my merging layers, so had to rebound.

I'm not sure you need the different sections to have any padding between them, could you not make them all slightly taller and have them butt up next to each other?
Could you also try it so the 'arrow head' is overlapping the video? This way you would remove the awkward space that is left around each arrow at the moment
