“How do you raise a prince?” Is the question posed by King Pines, his vizier Sedrak, the eunuch Ruka, and the educator Leon. They argue about how the son of the king Dshumber is most likely to grow into a wise king. Arguments and counter arguments are exchanged in the form of fables, parables and fairy tales. It unfolds a contest of wisdom – sometimes amusing, sometimes crude, sometimes profound.

This work of world literature was written around 1700 AD in Georgia, the more than 150 varied illustrations give the classic a new, contemporary freshness.
