Sarppakavu_Appupanthadi

SARPA KAVU - Sacred orchards, traditionally known as the 'Kavo' params, are found in many houses in Kerala. It is a group of trees that grow together in one area. There may be ponds and small water bodies associated with these gardens.Many small animals and birds live in the area. Certain trees are grown and nurtured here, mostly because these gardens are associated with religious ceremonies and festivals, and have a goddess. Some of these sacred orchards are known only as the Sarpa Kavu’ because serpents are regularly worshiped through various rituals.
APPUPPANTHADI - “Milkweed” is the common name for the plant (genus Calotropis) that produces the “appoopanthaadi”
It is the carrier of next generation
