A cover for one of my favorite nonfiction book, Manhunt: The 12-Day Chase for Lincoln’s Killer by James L. Swanson.

As the title implies, it follows the days after Lincoln was assassinated and the hunt for John Wilkes Booth. For my design, Lincoln’s iconic hat served as the map of the hunting party, with X marking the spot where Wilkes Booth would be found as well as symbolizing the deadly shot to the head Lincoln suffered.
