I love Mint and I equally adore Mr. Inman's genius geometric logo for the app. As such, the favicon has always irked me as it isn't perfect, like the rest of the product.

Nice. Two things:
The current version of Mint should already have a favicon with a white border (perhaps your browser cached the original favicon oh so many moons ago?).
And if we're going to nit pixels, the leaf should have a 10% black 1px outline to provide a little additional contrast against the white border.
