Jeff: Since I am not aware of how other interactions work I can't say much at this point. However, adding click-card added two clicks which were not in last version. I would suggest using hover but changing the layout of hovercard, like aligning 3 buttons vertically under each other.
I would also suggest looking into Designing Web Interfaces' Chapter 5 – Overlays In case you haven't done so yet.
"The borrower of a Kindle book loan is also able to make notes and highlights in loaned books. These will not be visible to the lender at the end of the loan period. If a borrower purchases the same title after the loan has ended, any notes and highlights made in the loaned book will be retained in the purchased version."

I'll be adding more polish to these, but it took me forever just to get the basic layout working right, so I figured it was worth a dribbble. :)

Are you able to keep notes (that are synced to Amazon) for borrowed books?

Nice Jeff!
However I'm little concerned about the user interaction about the 3 books that are hidden when we hover over any book.

Amrinder: I had the same concern and ended up making them work on click, with a close button. Great minds. :)
I'll dribbble the new version.

Lendle hovercard, updated

The hovercard is now a click card. It just made sense on several levels. http://lendle.me

The word on notes on borrowed books:
"The borrower of a Kindle book loan is also able to make notes and highlights in loaned books. These will not be visible to the lender at the end of the loan period. If a borrower purchases the same title after the loan has ended, any notes and highlights made in the loaned book will be retained in the purchased version."

So you don't get to see your notes unless you buy the book after borrowing. I just wonder if that counts for the online view as well:
