Thanks, guys. For me, it’s in keeping with the app style, but in brochure form: Undecorated, functional; utility over decoration. Thus the use of straightforward type. The familiar Alternate Gothic for heads, and Arial for the rest.
Anthony, Steve, the first version will probably be static rather than dynamic. A close call, but there's a heap of useful features we want in the actual app for our small-team devs to work on rather than a delightful dynamic glimpse of app activity. That seemed a better way of using their time. In the future that will change, and /hello will probably be a live glimpse into Mapalong action.
That’s not to say, though, there aren’t a couple of visual treats in there in the Analog tradtition. :) Cheers!

Is the / will the map behind dynamic or is it just a static image?
