I'm always wondering whether or not you need a submit button or a note that says "Enter password and hit enter".
Shouldn't this be obvious to computer users by now?
The padlock icon goes a long way to suggest this is a password field - but maybe I'm biased or we all are having spent a lot of time on the web filling these forms out.
My parents on the other hand - wouldn't have a clue.

It depends on who the user base is really.

Maybe an Enter-key-icon on the right side when the field is focused?

Interesting idea. I'll try it out. Thanks.
