Some experiments with different forms of arched lettering. The top vertical arch is an attempt at true vertical arching in the style of sports uniforms (see "Vertical arching" here). The bottom vertical arch is just done with the skew tool, but gives it more of a fish-eyed, popping-out look.

Really dig the top left. Nice work.

Thank you, Dan. That means a lot!

I forgot to mention that I'm using several flavors of the gorgeous Public Gothic typeface from Antrepo.

I like the distressing of the logo on the top left, but I prefer the symmetry of the top right logo. The bottom right is similar, but I perceive it as "unfinished" compared to the top right. Perhaps a hybrid would be a good solution?

An insightful comment, Stewart. The style of arching on the top-right image could only be achieved by editing the actual vector points of the letters, so I didn't want to start with the distressed version of the font, which would complicate that vector editing. I did prefer the distressed look, myself, but after trying it in a layout, I'm no longer sure. I will post a shot of the layout work I've started soon.
