In Progress: OS X Metro Icon Set! Closely copying the features of the usual icons, but with no layer styles and with 'flat' design. All of the icons in the image are part of the new set with the exceptions of Mission Control and Calendar, which are not finished yet. Some of the icons, such as reminders and Photo Booth (which I'm particularly proud of!) are nearly indistinguishable from their normal counterparts at small sizes. Please let me know what you think, and if I should finish this set, as well as what should be changed about the existing icons. Thanks!
Edit: As requested, here is a link to a dropbox .zip of these icons in 1024*1024 png format.

Cool idea! But 'iTunes' and 'facetime' makes me feel that they are not completed yet : )
love the mail icon!
@Ethan I think the iTunes icon is one of the best there...
@Justin I believe it would look better if you removed the perspective as well, I think that's what makes some of them look unfinished, they look like they're the first steps from sketches to the current OS X icons.
@Ethan Thanks for the input. Do you know of a way I could stay true to the original icon without the false perspective of the lens aperture via the darker inner circles? Or perhaps remove the lens altogether?
@Luke Zammit Thanks man, I appreciate it. Wasn't sure I would get away with getting rid of the bird. 8-)
@Sveinn Davidsson Thanks so much for the positive input. I think I agree mostly. The foremost problem I have with that, though, is without the false perspective separating the inner and outer gears on the preferences icon, it just looks like a mish-mash of gray cogs. Not sure how to go about that while maintaining the style.
@Sveinn Davidsson Also, do you mean getting rid of the perspective on the Photo Booth icon as well? I feel that it would be somewhat awkward looking with a single color for curtains. Let me know what you think. :)
@Justin W Compared with the original 'iTunes' icon, the stroke is too broad especially all layer styles were removed. Keep the stroke is okay and I agree it should be keept, but not that broad.
@Sveinn Davidsson I think 'iMessage' and 'LaunchPad' were the best.
@Ethan LaunchPad is an original OS X icon
@Justin W I'm talking about the angled perspective, not depth, mainly Mail, Contacts, Reminders and Notes — the perspective of the rest is straight on (not angled) which makes it work better IMO
Edit: @Ethan ah! my mistake, I mixed Mission Control with LaunchPad
Hey, could you (@Justin W) add a hi-res version of this to the shot (can be a link to Dropbox)? Then we could replace OS X's system files icons with these — that would be awesome. I just love these!
@Oliver R. Sorry I didn't see your comment for a long time! Thanks so much. Here's the dropbox link
