    Finally experimented with hsla(). I'm sold.

    For me it's easier to tweak colors in hsla than in rgba or hex.

    The hue value makes choosing your base color straight-forward (1-255 that corresponds to the ROYGBIV spectrum). If I want to make an orange more yellow I can just increase the hue value. With RGB and hex it's not such an easy value change.

    And with the saturation and luminosity it's very easy to make things grayscale, or grayscale with a slight tinge of color. And then you have the same alpha benefits as rgba.
