Photo layout - overlays

I'm making indented-looking overlays for my new website design. Thinking about fading these between multiple images, depending on whether I have a lot of work to show, for one project.

Tired of doing lightboxes and copyright elements over larger images, so I'm working on this new kind of style. Really liking it right now - what do you guys think?
