Neumorphism is a visual style that blends techniques from skeuomorphism, realism, and flat design.

To understand neumorphism, we first need to understand some history between skeuomorphism and flat design.
Skeuomorphism has long been confused to have an inherent association with realism. So much so that it has become widely accepted that skeuomorphism implies realism. Based on its classic definition, that was not originally the case.

Skeuomorphism, or a skeuomorph, is the act of adding something that already has an understood usage to a product in order to better explain how to use it.
