Something I made in Photoshop last night (as a break from other design projects). Started off with just the middle portion (main app), then ended up designing out a complete one.
The sidebars are partially open for the purpose of this shot. The left drawer shows the list of songs to the currently playing album. The right drawer shows other albums in your library. Both can be accessed from their icons up top!

Jared, looks awesome. Only criticism is the lack of contrast on the drawer/album/shuffle buttons - almost didn't see them
Cool shot though, having everything spread like that to show the different views
I know circles are all the rage right now, but it doesn't really make sense for the album cover to be a square in the background and then a circle when you're playing it... unless I'm misunderstanding something haha. I like the playlist through, especially the color blue and the caps.
@Shayne Ingham Wow! Lol. I did the middle portion first, then added the sidebars. Never realized I didn't change the circle. Thanks! :)
I disagree! I like the circle. I think it differentiates the current album that is playing more from the albums in the background, and I also think its just kind of of a cool UI component because it looks like you're looking at the album artwork through a porthole lol.
What's this? A shot that isn't about Evomail? Impossible!
@Shayne Ingham @Jared Erondu I might be totally off here, but it looks like the middle section still has the square album art, just with the circle cutout. I think it looks great, and it really puts emphasis on the track/artist/album text. Good work!
Ehhhhh guess I'm outvoted. Just seems weird to crop something that has been originally designed in specifically only a square format. If you take the JT album cover and do the same treatment I doubt it would look as good as the example used. The text would get all wonked and half cut up. Just my opinion though. Different strokes for different folks. :* @Logan Pyle @Noah Gilmore
Looks great. I'm tempted to see the sidebar drawers swapped. We process information left-to-right, so I would almost expect to select the artist/album sets on the left, control it in the middle, and view/select tracks on the right. OCD? Perhaps.
That Tycho album is excellent, btw.

Really liked @Jared Erondu 's Music Player app and decided to make it mobile. It was a pretty nice break from work. Check out the x2 above!

This was a fun exercise! Got inspired by @Jared Erondu 's UI, wanted to put a slightly different spin on it on the main app screen.
Full UI attached.
