Trying with a translucent UI on top of a blurred background for the Messages feature. The background is the user's cover image.

This is well executed, though I'm not sure about the padding on the sides of the bottom bar, Maybe they'd look better with more padding?
@Eli Schiff Yeah, I went back and forth on that one. It only looks wrong in this presentation. On the actual app, having a padding of 10 px is consistent with the rest of the app and also a fairly standard amount of side spacing, see iMessages, Facebook Messages for examples. The top and bottom spacing is slightly larger than the side spacing.
@Meng To Now that you mention it, likely in the frame of the device it would look better. I think it's just that it's floating here out of context.
By the way, I've been enjoying your sketch posts! At first I thought it was a little strange that you were promoting it so much, but I think it makes a lot of sense. The more that people use it, the more that it become accepted as the default app to use.
