If you Canon bring yourself to Leica shot, move on. I shutter to think of the harm these flash threads do to the development of Dribbble. ISO sick of the way people are snapping at each other - it just lens way for negative conflict. Let's rewind, stop shooting each other, and look at the clear picture: If it ain't bokeh, don't fix it.

NO PHOTO SHOTS!!!

@Jeff Broderick how does this stop anybody from designing exactly? I don't think anybody is forcing you to come here and comment in this thread?
The initial debate was about taking photos of your screen, but for some reason it seems people have interpreted it as a personal attack on their freedom.
Nobody is saying that Dribbble should BAN photos of your screen, we're just debating the value of that technique…

NO PHOTO SHOTS!!!

Saying things like "who cares?" and "to each is own" ignores the fact that online communities are fragile things that can quickly evolve in the wrong direction if you're not careful.
I'm not saying that this is happening to Dribbble, or that taking photos of your screen will trigger the apocalypse.
Just saying that it's up to the community itself to come up with its own guidelines and principles if we want Dribbble to stay like it is.
Now maybe this particular taking-photos-of-your-screen things is harmful, or maybe it isn't. That's up for debate. But please don't say things like "mind your own business" (or its swedish equivalent), it's just not very constructive.
(Plus I would reply that if you think that way then mind your own business as well and don't reply to this thread ;)

Working on adding a map view to the Sharypic app.
The app is already available by the way, and it's free, so if you want to browse awesome event photos from around the world go check it out.

I agree, I feel like taking a picture of your screen artificially makes design look better than they really do.
Dribbble is not a popularity contest (ok, it is… but it shouldn't be encouraged), the goal is not just to rack up likes but also to become a better designer.
Of course if you're taking a photo of a phone that's different, we're talking about people taking a photo of their own screen for no reason whatsoever.
P.S.: I've done it myself a couple times, doesn't mean I don't wish people would stop.

Toolbox Filters

The Toolbox is a directory of useful single-page apps and bookmarklets that I launched last Friday. I've just added filters to make browsing the site much easier.
Oh, and last time's hosting problems have been dealt with so the site actually works this time!
