Thanks for all the feedback so far!
@Alexander Vaughn If I really wanted to go all-out I'd try to work on adding translucency/transparency in parts to simulate the thin plastic. But I'm okay with it looking a little matte for now.
@Wil Nichols Considered it, tried it this way and liked it. Maybe I'll swap out the colors tonight and see if I prefer it.
@Eli Schiff You're right. The reason it's like this is to fit in the square canvas, but I think the icon's a little big for the canvas anyway. It'd be better to scale it down and have more room for a good shadow.
@Pedja Rusic Thanks :3 as others mentioned, it's a little more matte than is realistic, so there should be stronger gloss. And you are right, the material would be taut so there would be a single, strong highlight rather than this softer, staggered one. Oh well ._.
@Ania Maclain Thanks! The base colors are meant to mimic the original, although I did pick them from scratch so there are some subtle differences [My red is pinker, my blue is darker].

I love this, if I would have to nitpick the ripple highlights are cool but i'm thinking, the ball is already pumped, the material is still stretched, so I'm guessing what they did with the original light on the icon could work too (maybe better), just to have a bigger mass of light on one spot on the top :)

I would change the way you stroke the base shapes. It detracts from realism and adds unnecessary shading, jags, and details.

Well done. Feels far more smooth and soft than the original. I've had a similar replacement sitting around; the not-quite-circular silhouette always bothered me.
Considered switching the two blues so it actually resembles a color wheel?
