About The Tournament

The Tournament is an open-application, single-elimination tournament brand, currently hosting intensely competitive basketball and soccer experiences. Each summer, teams from all over the US assemble to compete for a $1 million winner-take-all prize, broadcasted by ESPN.

The Challenge

The Tournament needed an agile partner to help them build a platform to promote its new leagues and dynamic tournaments. The site needed to be modern, easy to navigate, and consistent with other major sports platforms while maintaining its own grassroots feel. Backend flexibility was a must to allow for future growth and the addition of more league expansions down the line.

The Solution

We focused on designing a clean UI that would make it easy for users to consume the content effortlessly. To showcase the fun spirit of the brand, we paired the clean UI with custom illustrations and graphics to mark the brand's gritty, rebellious personality.

Additionally, we implemented a modular page structure that allowed for easy addition and removal of sections as the company continues to grow. This ensured scalability and flexibility, enabling the website to adapt and evolve alongside the company's expanding needs.

The Result

Up against the shot clock, Brave was able to bring a brand new category to the spot light in time for a major announcement on ESPN. During launch, The Tournament’s new website was featured on ESPN, seeing a 10x increase in users, and a 1,500% increase in daily traffic.
